I Sync from my phone then it shows that its downloaded all the numbers
to My pennytel portal.

The only thing is is that when i make a call it goes through direct to
the other person's number and not to the smart dial no# nor the pilot
no#.

Can someone tell me the correct procedure to get it running.

Try an uninstall and reinstall.

Also check the number format you phone numbers are stored in in your phone.
+61409878475 is the preferred format although 0409878475 should work
as well. Spaces and other non number characters apart from the
leading + may cause issues but even then it should fall back to the
pilot number so i reinstall.

Also i assume you have checked your pennytel account to confirm if you
mobile or your pennytel sim is been billed. Some of the phones have
not shown the updated phone number during the call but this is
generally rare.

I think i know why the Pennytel App is not working as it should on my
HTC HD2 Android.

I have tested with several builds of Android on my phone.

When I tested a HTC sense 2.2 android build it wont connect to smart
dial when i dial of the contact list. But the intersting part is when
i dial the person off the call log history it dials through to smart
dial???

The only difference between dialing from contact list and call log is
that from the contact list it shows if the number is a mobile,
house, work or other. eg if you set your contact to Mobile it will show
M +61447439675 or if house H +61447439675 or work W +61447439675 etc.
But if you dial from the call log history it will dial straight to the
smart dial number because there is no M , H, W before the number you
dial.

When i flashed to a Nexus rom 2.2 Android it will just let me dial
straight to the smart dial number of the Contact list because there
was no M , H , W , O etc before the number you dial.

Could this be a HTC sense related problem?

Has anyone else came across this issue or has a solution?

That is an interesting idea. I am interested to know if others have
the same issue and if so i may be able to fix that.
