The Bangladeshi Community Health Initiative
A team of dental, nursing, medical, and undergraduate students in partnership with the Asian American Studies Community Service Corps is beginning to establish a relationship with the Bangladeshi community in West Philadelphia by conducting a community needs assessment and providing oral health information.
Volunteering with the Bangladeshi Community Health Initiative (BCHI) is a unique opportunity to follow a public health project from its initial stages. Participants can improve on their medical interviewing skills, engage the community clinically as the project becomes more established, and collaborate with students in other Penn schools. Students at the Wharton School of Business and the Graduate School of Education are also engaged with this community center, known as Moder Patshala (link provided below with more information).
When: Saturday 3/26, 4/2, 4/9 for 2-hour shifts between 1:00PM-5:00PM
