Appearing much like the monstrous spiders that they were in life, wraith spiders differed in a few noticeable ways. A wraith spider's eight eyes were nothing more than hollowed-out sockets and a shadowy aura emanated from the undead vermin, congealing around the fangs as pure blackness.[3] They were surrounded by the stench of decay.[4]

During the Silence of Lolth in 1372 DR, cultists of the drow deity Kiaransalee transformed many of the spiders living in settlements such as Maerimydra and Szith Morcane into wraith spiders as twisted mockeries of Lolth's sacred creatures.[5][6]

This legendary warrior exists within the legends of the Kaelorians who claim that he is a rogue Exarch who appears once every few millennia to bring justice and peace to their Craftworld. It is said that he will arise from the ranks of the Warp Spiders though his power would transcend that of an Exarch.[1b] A copy of the Arc of Destiny located in the House Library of Ansgar even claims that the Craftwar was won by Kaelor due to the timely arrival of the Wraith Spider.[1a]

There were various theories that surrounded Lhykosidae with some holding the view that he was a Phoenix Lord though Kaelorian lore is ignorant of the originator of the Warp Spider Aspect. However, some hold the view that the Wraith Spider has taken the essential soul of the Warp Spiders with him, being a kind of spiritual awakening rather than finding or donning the armour of a fallen Phoenix Lord as is the case with the main Aspect Temples. Among the beliefs of the Warp Spiders of Kaelor, it is believed that the Wraith Spider is a monumental force of purification that stems from the view that the Warp Spiders draw their name as well as power from the tiny crystalline creatures that roam the Webway and Craftworld's Infinity Circuit where they purge them of non-Eldar psychic energy. Thus, Lhykosidae is said to return to Kaelor at the moment of greatest pollution and atrophy. Vhaalum the Silver, who is a mighty Kaelorian wraithsmith, holds his own interesting interpretation of this myth as he believed the Wraith Spider to be a personification of wraithbone except he is sha'iel directly manifested into an organic form.[1b]

They speak no language of their own and do not respond in any way to a speak with dead spell. They seem to communicate with each other on some instinctive level to coordinate attacks in pack formations, though this is non-verbal in nature.

They understand orders given in the common tongue or drow, and can be commanded by those with the ability to command or control undead. They are always encountered as the servants of some more powerful creature.

These creatures are immune to cold-based attacks and sleep, charm, and hold spells. Normal weapons do no damage; wraith-spiders are affected only by silver weapons or magical weapons. Holy water vials thrown at these creatures inflict 2d4 points of damage (as acid) against their undead forms. For unknown reasons, raise dead spells do not affect these creatures as they do other wraiths, having no effect at all.

These creatures create webs that glow with an eerie dim green light. Anyope touching a web will sustain 1d4 points of damage from the numbing cold of the strands. Characters in contact with the webs must also make a saving throw vs. paralyzation or be immobilized by the web for 1-6 rounds, sustaining cold damage for each round in the web. Like the wraith-spiders themselves, the webs cannot be cut by normal weapons; they can be cut only by silver or magical edged weapons, or broken by a successful bend bars/lift gates roll.

A wraith spider appears much like it did in life, except that its eight eyes are hollow sockets through which the empty interior of its shell is dimly visible. A shadowy aura surrounds the creature, congealing to pure blackness around its fangs.

The Yuri Watanabe you know? She wasn't real. That Yuri was a story I made up, a lie I told myself--The good grandaughter I thought I wanted to be. Do you know what a wraith is, Spider-Man? It's a wisp, a trace, a ghost--The fading memory of someone who's gone. There's a reason I took the mask back so easily after giving it up. I didn't understand that fully until I killed a man last night. Yuri Watanabe would have been horrified by what I did. But you know how I felt? I felt free!

Yuri Watanabe was a famous cop who was inspired by her grandfather Kenneth Watanabe. She later on became in NYPD captain and supporter to Spider-Man when he is dealing with dangerous villians. When someone close to her got shot, she became the masked vigilante Wraith and punish those who do wrong.

Notes: She is pretty good in a fight but she can be tagged by slower foes if she loses her cool and not only that can get one shotted by an enraged Spider-Man. She gets out of Spider-Man's webbing but it is unclear how since she is a peak human.
