Subject: Penn State THON Canning Weekend
Dear Tom,
My name is Lydia Scheel and I'm a Senior at Penn State. I'm reaching out to you because I serve as the Donor and Alumni Relations Director for my THON Organization, the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences benefitting THON. As I'm sure a proud alum like you knows, THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, with the mission of raising awareness and funds for the fight against pediatric cancer.
I'm emailing you because I want to let you and the Northeastern Maryland Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association know that my THON Organization will be fundraising in your area this weekend! Our first Fundraising Outreach and Canning trip will take place this Saturday and Sunday, September 24th & 25th.
One of our members from your area, Molly Robinson from Forest Hill, MD, is leading a canning trip in her hometown. If you see Penn State students from my Organization or others this weekend, please stop by to say hello or donate!
If you are willing, please forward this email to your chapter members to raise awareness for our cause. We love to interact with alumni and hope you can stop by! Thank you very much.
For The Kids,
Lydia Scheel
