Hi All,

Based on the doodle survey, the consensus time to meet is Thursdays,
11:30 - 1. I'm putting together the website, and drafting some goals,
so we should be ready to go next week, 6/17 at 11:30 (location TBD).

If you know anyone else who would like to join, just send them the
link to this group, and they should be able to join themselves.

If you'd like to brush up on some R stuff, the most relevant notes
from last time are probably weeks 1 and 2:

http://www.ling.upenn.edu/~joseff/rstudy/week1.html
-vector and matrix assignment and indexing

http://www.ling.upenn.edu/~joseff/rstudy/week2.html
-factors, data frames, IO, and some simple manipulation.

Since the focus of this group is going to be data manipulation and
graphical display, it would probably be most helpful for everyone if
we worked with actual data that we care about. So, please think about
interesting data sets you might already have from your own research,
or may have come across in a published or public form.

Also, if you have any particular topics you think we should cover,
please send them along to the list.

Hi Joe,

Oops! I somehow missed the scheduling survey! Not sure what kind of
constraints you had on scheduling, but if there's any chance it could
be pushed a little later (say starting at noon?) I'd appreciate it. My
lab meeting is from 10-12 on Thurs. We discussed moving our meeting,
but it looks tricky. We'll give it another shot if the R group has to
stay in that slot.

Hey Joe,
I also neglected to do the schedule survey.  I'm good with Thursdays, but I likewise wouldn't be able to come until 12.  Just throwing that out there... :)
