Students for Human Rights and Democratic Education is a grassroots conference focused on student input and perspectives on how to affect change in human rights and democratization through higher education. As an active student leader, your experience and insights would be valuable to this conference. Members of your student organization may also be interested in participating in this opportunity to interact with student leaders from the US, Canada, and Europe.  Please forward this invitation on to any listservs and members who you believe may benefit from this opportunity. For your information, we can provide free overnight accommodations for students arriving on the evening before the conference. We look forward to hearing from you!

Students for Human Rights and Democratic Education will feature speakers representing academic, grassroots, and institutional approaches to human rights and democracy, as well as discussion panels with active leaders who have led successful human rights or social justice projects. Participants will discuss criteria for examining higher education institutions and their efforts to promote human rights and democracy, as well as develop recommendations for mobilizing students both through their home universities and nationally.

Attached please find the conference schedule, registration form, and additional information on the International Consortium.   Please RSVP to Linda Hollenback at lhol...@sas.upenn.edu ASAP, as accommodations are limited.
