Afghanistan: The Good Occupation?

Thursday, Oct 23, 7:30pm

Univ of Pennsylvania, Irvine Auditorium G16
34th & Spruce Sts. (NW corner)

Now in its seventh year, the occupation of Afghanistan
is falling deeper into crisis with death tolls continuing to
rise. In response U.S. and NATO occupying forces have
stepped up their aggression dropping more bombs during
June and July than all of 2006. In August, Democrats and
Republicans joined together to devise a new escalation
to the occupation, with the goal of adding 10,000 U.S.
troops in the next year. And recently, fire fights have
broken out between Pakistani and U.S. troops.

Barak Obama has used his Presidential campaign to call
for a stronger occupation of Afghanistan. But for those
who are against war and occupation, what should we say
about Afghanistan? Come join the Philly branch of the ISO
to discuss this mounting problem for the U.S. and why we
should oppose this occupation too.
