Acollaboration between Grand Scheme Media and Addie Orfila Training offers a series of high-end TV Movie Magic short courses taking place online and in cities across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Live and online training will be delivered across the United Kingdom to enable professionals working in high end television to get a better understanding of the essential software used for scheduling on high-end TV productions

The training is open to people already in the industry who are working or moving over to work in high-end TV as production managers, ADs, production accountants and line producers but who have yet to get to grips with Movie Magic software.

Trainees will be given access to Movie Magic training licenses and subscriptions and will need to install the relevant Movie Magic software on a laptop which should be brought to the training session.

We always welcome applications from under-represented groups, including, but not limited to: those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds; people with a disability; people from the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

Effective and efficient schedules are vital for all productions, and this course will take high-end TV trainees through the essential elements of creating them, using the globally-used, industry-standard software, Movie Magic scheduling.

Beginning with breaking down a drama script into elements, trainees will learn the key drivers of a great schedule and will have a step-by-step interactive introduction to Movie Magic scheduling software. They will use the software and together will create a production schedule and learn how to manipulate it according to changes within a production.

Since Movie Magic Scheduling files are encrypted and they do not allow other softwares to integrate directly with their program, there is really only one way to get data out of Movie Magic. And that is by exporting to PDF.

Luckily, Movie Magic Scheduling does allow you to create highly customized report templates for exporting to PDFs. We used this feature to create a custom report template that places all of your Movie Magic Scheduling scene data into a special format that our online converter can then parse.

Film production scheduling is a complex process and there are many tools that allow you to create a stripboard schedule. By exporting scene breakdown data to Excel, you can then use the scene breakdown data should you need to create a schedule in a tool other than Movie Magic Scheduling.

The days of spending hours copying and pasting data from PDF exports from Movie Magic Scheduling are over. Thanks to this nifty tool, it only takes a few minutes to get all of your scene breakdown data converted from Movie Magic Scheduling to an editable Excel file.

Whether it's in a film production company in Spain or anywhere else, it is always advisable to create a shooting schedule for a film or television production project. Even when filming an event, having a shooting schedule is always beneficial. It is important to note that most movies are not filmed in chronological order, although it would be ideal to allow actors to get into their roles progressively. However, due to logistical reasons, this is difficult to achieve.

To make this task easier, today we will talk about Movie Magic Scheduling. This is a scheduling software used in the film and television industry to plan and organize the production of a movie or TV program. It allows users to create and manage detailed production schedules, including information about the cast and crew, required materials, shooting locations, and production timelines. The tool also enables users to easily adjust and modify the schedule as the production needs change.

When starting to create your shooting schedule with Movie Magic, the objective is to achieve an efficient, organized, and clear result. By structuring the information using columns and colors, it is visually and practically represented.

You should begin your plan by considering that the progress of the shoot will depend on the budget, the actors' availability, and the availability of locations. The first step is to create the script breakdown, which involves organizing and numbering the sequences by location and effect. You can create sequence by sequence and add the corresponding information in a template like this:

Once the sequences are organized, the next step is to place them in columns according to their location and note the characters that appear in each scene, the required materials, and whether the scene is an interior or exterior shot, day or night. Then, add colors to make everything more visual. The standard color scheme used in Hollywood is as follows:

At this point, the columns will be organized by sequences, so the final step will be to rearrange the columns according to the production requirements mentioned earlier: the availability of actors, locations, technical equipment, etc.

If you encounter any issues while importing into MMS after the script has been exported as a .sex file, it is advisable to contact their technical support service for assistance. Please note that our ability to assist you with that program is extremely limited

Please note that the exact steps and options may vary slightly depending on the version of Movie Magic Scheduling you are using. If you encounter any difficulties or require further assistance, consult the software's documentation or reach out to the support resources provided by Entertainment Partners, the developer of Movie Magic Scheduling.

These are just some of the alternatives available in the market. The choice of the best option for you will depend on your specific needs and the size of your operation. I would recommend researching each of these alternatives further and trying their trial versions or requesting demos to determine which one fits your requirements best.

Movie Magic Scheduling is a widely recognized software tool specifically designed for film and television production scheduling. It is developed by Entertainment Partners, a company known for its production management solutions. Here are some key points about Movie Magic Scheduling:

It's worth noting that the software can have a learning curve, particularly for users who are new to production scheduling. However, many resources are available, including tutorials, user guides, and training options, to help users navigate and maximize the software's capabilities.

Ultimately, the effectiveness of Movie Magic Scheduling will depend on the specific needs and preferences of the production team. It's advisable to research and evaluate the software thoroughly to determine if it aligns with your requirements before making a decision.

At Camalen Rental, we have extensive experience as a film and advertising production company in Spain, as well as offering interesting and practical courses in digital filmmaking.

Hello everyone, I am posting to ask if there are any great, detailed tutorials on how to use Movie Magic Scheduling 6. I've just gotten the software, along with Budgeting, and wish to learn the software as I am in the process of developing a short film I wrote. I've never used the software so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Type it into YouTube. I know for sure there are Budgeting tutorial videos there... not sure about scheduling. In truth, you could probably figure it out in just an hour or two of playing around with it. Make sure you find the Templates folder. Starting with a template is helpful. The real challenge is scheduling your project in a way that makes the most sense. Next to that? The program is a walk in the park, as they say. Your software also, I believe, comes with a certain amount of tech support, so if you get stuck, you can give them a call and they'll walk you through it. But yeah, check YouTube. Good luck.

There is a book I have at home( I'm away from two weeks). That explains everything. I'll try and find out what it's called for you but I found it invaluable when first finding my way around the software.

MMS will help you breakdown your script into the smallest of details. Some work is required on your part before you actually get stuck into the software, you need to run through your script a couple of times and highlight all of the important information that will need to be considered.

It is always good to have a 2nd set of eyes go over your work in case you miss any important elements. You will want to highlight all of the characters, props, vehicles, sound effects, locations, visual effects, extras, stunts, wardrobe, makeup, special equipment, set dressing and anything else that will need to be considered on your shoot days.

The amount of breakdown sheets will differ for every script you do. When doing a feature film you will more than likely have a large amount of breakdown sheets to create, make sure to pay close attention to detail.

this will bring up a multi colored document, each colored strip representing a scene. You can move the strips around to change the shooting order and add day breaks for shoots that go longer than a single day.

Here you can have all of the information that you have already added put into printable BREAKDOWN SHEETS. These sheets can be given to each department as they breakdown the individual requirements for the crew.

Movie Magic Scheduling offers many scheduling options; I have named just a few of the elements that it has to offer. I recommend downloading the 5 day demo from the Entertainment Partners website and playing around with it to see if it is the right fit for you. It makes scheduling easy and creates clear and concise documents that you can send out to your crew.
