Tuesday, October 18th  -  The  Microbiology of Compost and Living Soils

There is a direct and scientifically proven connection between use of
compost and the health and fertility of soil.  The connection is the
vast and living group of SOIL FOODWEB microbes that make compost.  These
SOIL FOODWEB microbes continue to function in your garden soil by
recycling raw organic waste into plant nutrients, protecting plants from
some pathogenic organisms, and naturally cleaning up some toxic waste.
Be amazed at the resilience of the natural world in our soils, which is
the foundation of SUSTAINABILITY.  Walk away with an in-depth view of
the microbiology involved in composting, an understanding of how
composting can benefit your garden and an overview of the process of
composting.
