In China-ASEAN Business No. 62, there is a special column "Lao Investment Promotion Seminar" from Page 14-16. On Dec. 20, 2012, Lao Investment Promotion Seminar held in Beijing was co-organized by CABC Chinese Secretariat and Embassy of the Lao PDR in China. Mr. Xu Ningning moderated the meeting, Ambassador of Laos to China Mr. Somdy Bounkhoum, Section Chief of Department of International Trade and Economic Affair, Ministry of Commerce of China Mr. Mao Tianyu, Commercial Minister Counsellor of Embassy of the Lao PDR Mr. Khampanh Sengthongkham attended the meeting and delivered the speech. Representatives from COSCO LOGISTICS CO., LTD., Yunnan Provincial Overseas Investment Co.,L td., Laos Botin Economic Zone Development Group Limited introduced the investment in Laos. Person in charge of China national industry associations and chambers, entrepreneurs delegates, media, total 200 people attended the meeting.

 

From 2011-2012, CABC Chinese Secretariat have respectively co-organized the seminars on investment opportunities with the embassies of Cambodia, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, Lao PDR successively. In 2013, we hope to organize more investment promotion seminars with more ASEAN countries. We believe that convening "Seminar on Investment Opportunities" will benefit more Chinese enterprises to understand ASEAN and investing in ASEAN.
