Beforethe migration, I opened the case and cleaned the micro-fan, since it was loud and the temperature was reaching 65 C during peak usage. Now even with indexing, it is stable within 49-51 C. The room temperature is about 35 C (I live on the Capricorn Tropic line).

The fan was dirty. Completely clogged.

So it was beneficial, lowered the noise, temperature and survived the migration.

I bought a 2x8TB My Cloud Ultra EX2 and formatted it.

Then I started to copy all my files from my 2x4Tb one that was full.

I left the indexing on and started to copy my movies (3TB).

Indexing was almost on the fly. The My Cloud usually indexed 100% within a couple of minutes. I guess it had enough time to index the previous movie while copying the next one (all of them are between 4Gb-7Gb)

Then I copied about 400Gb of pictures. Did it fine. Indexing was done almost instantly.

If I kill it (via ssh with Puty and restsdk.sh stop) the CPU and fan goes into normal but I cannot reach via MyCloud (from phone app for eg.). The local network is still ok, I can watch movie on the TV from NAS.

Right now the app is only showing the subfolders that have already been indexed but I was hoping that if I initiate a copy with the parent folder it will copy everything without waiting for the indexing to finish.

I posted this over at Reddit but will post it here as well as I need help upgrading my OS3 to OS5 but without all these issues but I specifically need help from those who use PLEX on their WD MyCloud EX2 NAS as thats my main use case for my NAS, Please reply here or on the reddit thread if you can help me out thanks

Looking for a ** detailed ** Step by Step walk thru instructions/tutorial for upgrading my WD MyCloudEX2 Ultra NAS from OS3 to OS5 but need to ensure all my Plex stuff is not ruined/messed up as that is the primary use case for my WD NAS (mainly FLAC music but have been adding bluray movie rips recently as well).

I know we need to upgrade the NAS OS from version OS3 to OS5 for major updates but Ive read so so many horror stories from Plex owners that said they had nothing but headaches when they did this upgrade.

Once again need to know in what specific order I need to uninstall, install, turn off/off etc each of the components for both WD NAS updates and Plex stuff so that it all goes smoothly and securely without having to redo anything in Plex and not lose any data or playlists or metadata etc as its taken forever to setup my Plex server the way it is now.

My experience with OS5 is that is works fine after the installation is complete. Sure, it takes a long time to index, and you cant turn this off. But remote access is much more reliable that it was under OS3.

In Harry Potter, what are those black wavy things the Death Eaters turn into called? I have read the books, but it was long ago. I had just came across a clip today and came to my senses that I had always wondered about this, but have always forgotten.

David: We used SyFlex in three sequences: the Graveyard, Dark Mark (ministry of magic wizard apparition), and the Portkey. There were 4 deatheater shots in the graveyard sequence and in total we created 7 deatheater digital doubles that had to be able to be seen very close up on screen. We had the task of creating the deatheater apparation effect. The Death Eaters were to arrive from the sky amongst an amorphous spear of smoke, stabbing into the ground and suddenly taking form amongst tendrils of this acrid black smoke. The black smoke needed to encircle the Death Eaters bodies, becoming the black of their swirling cloaks as they materialized.

David: The Death Eaters had to be dark and scary with a really sinister quality to their apparition effect. It needed to look like an 'amoprhous spear of smoke' stabbing into the ground, with a certain level of supernatural control to the smoke as it swirled around the materializing digital double. The director had shot plates of the deatheater actors as he imagined they would step forward out of the smoke at the end of their apparition, so we knew we could create a transition from a digital double to the real actor if we had to. The problem with this was the takeover point from one to the other - matching the exact position of a digital double to the actor at any particular point would have been very time consuming. In the end the cloth simulation and final render of the Death Eaters was so convincing that in a number of the shots we kept the digital double in the shot and left the actor out altogether.

In the image below, the Death Eaters are flying and leaving a black, wavy trail of smoke behind them as they go. Honestly, though, I'm not sure what you're asking. If the black smoke trails are what you are thinking of, just know that they are specific to the movies and are not part of the books. If this is not the answer you are looking for, if you can provide more information, we could probably help you out.

ETA: I'm adding two more pics. The first is the Death Eater "smoke" kind of billowing out from the Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirement in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as the Death Eaters enter Hogwarts to oversee Draco killing Dumbledore. The second is the Death Eaters returning to their normal, human form, after having been just a smoky essence.

A history of computer graphics packed into less than two minutes of video narrated by Alvy Ray Smith, the computer scientist who co-founded Pixar and helped pioneer animated movies, introduced an Aug. 10 special address at SIGGRAPH.

In retrospect, it was a year of digital twins and virtual worlds. So, it was fitting that one of our most memorable moments was the debut of Toy Jensen, a character based on our CEO, brought to life by NVIDIA Omniverse Avatar.

Does the PS5 play Blu-ray discs and DVDs? Fortunately - yes! Assuming you bought the version of the PS5 with the disc drive that's actually capable of accepting any sort of discs at all, your console should be capable (assuming it's working) of running Blu-Ray movies and TV shows, making your PlayStation 5 a whole entertainment system, rather than just a game-playing system. Not only that, the PS5 also has some 4K tricks to boast for those new movies and tv shows.

Yes. Unlike the PS4, the PS5 Console Edition does play 4K Blu-rays. That means you can build your movie collection with disc labelled 4K or 4K Ultra HD and start getting obsessive about the sharpness of pictures, the depth of black, and quibbling over the 4K transfers of retro movies.

walkerp, look at the movies that were being made decades ago, before most of us were ever born, before there was an internet, before directors and screenwriters became cult figures, and even lesser lights got treated like minor deities, simply because they work in entertainment.

Mr. Lyons pulled the trigger on himself. Trent warned everyone to back off at the top of this post, and I even attempted to warn Chris myself that he was straying into dangerous waters; of course he ignored me, as he always did.

Any film where Parker is basically just a regular guy who plans one specific Heist and one Heist only before going back to normal life is just not Parker. In a lot of ways, Parker seems to live for the scores he pulls down.

I am very glad to hear they really ARE committing to a film series (although, if you have any influence at all, please, PLEASE convince them to call the sequel ANYTHING but Parker 2!), and the idea of a Grofield film or series is a great idea! No better way to introduce him to moviegoers than a film version of The Score! :-)
