Along the way we have introduced both calc_lXXX_pars and
XXX_before_boundary subroutines called by pde. However, I suggest that the
functionality of calc_lXXX_pars is transferred to XXX_before_boundary
subroutines, as there is no reason to have both.

So I suggest to rename all calc_lXXX_pars to XXX_before_boundary.
