It works for me, with Ubuntu Xenial and texlive-full.

I think Wlad Lyra once had a fix for compiling the manual, but I can't
find that email, so I cannot tell whether the problem he had fixed was
what you are reporting.

PS: The strange thing is that I cannot find the source of the line your
LaTeX compiler complains about:

git grep '\b(6\.74|flow *fields)\b'
git grep -B1 '\bfields\b' | grep '\bflow\b'

Are we really talking about the current version of the code?

Many thanks for your help.

I did a fresh update of

pencil-code/doc

$ make

Then I got the same error.

I am using ubuntu 16.04 and full texlive2016.

can you find out where that line

is located? [Using grep -R or some such]
