Windows 10 May 2019 Update[1] (also known as version 1903[2] and codenamed "19H1"[3]) is the seventh major update to Windows 10 and the first to use a more descriptive codename (including the year and the order released) instead of the "Redstone"[4] or "Threshold" codename. It carries the build number 10.0.18362.
The first preview was released to Insiders who opted in to the exclusive Skip Ahead ring on July 25, 2018. The update began rolling out on May 21, 2019.[5]Notable changes in the May 2019 Update include:[6][7]
Hello thanks for taking time out to review my inquiry with regards to my concern with Windows 10 ver 1903 deployment. My sound blaster Audigy FX sound card worked excellent up until your deployment of Windows 10 version 1903. The prior Windows 10 version 1809 my sound card had absolutely no issues what so ever. Now I did my due diligence and began to update my sound cards drivers, uninstall the the sound card, uninstall the drivers, perform a thorough clean sweep of any left over driver files in safe mode, reinstall the sound card, re-install the drivers, update to the latest Creative drivers but to no avail. My sound blaster Audigy FX is not broken because it is showing in my pc's device manager clearly plus it shows the sound control panel my sound card shows as disabled in all the audio connection. Please FIX this issue you break you repair it Thank You
If issue still persists, contact Sound Blaster Audigy FX support for better assistance.
Else, if it is less than 10 days for your upgrade to V1903, you can roll back to V1809. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > click Go back to previous version.
let troubleshooter do it's thing and hopefully it will end with a suggestion to try installing with "these settings', if it does give it a go. If it doesn't, try creatives website for updated drivers.
MOST of the driver issues are on the hardware manufacture not Microsoft. They way I understand it Microsoft will work with any hardware manufacturer to get their drivers updated to work with new Windows 10 releases. If Creative has chosen to NOT do that it is NOT Microsoft's fault and your only options at that point is to either downgrade to a Windows 10 version which has driver support for your hardware or upgrade your hardware.
I personally ditched Creative back in the late 90's/early 2000's just for their apparent lack of driver support for older hardware models. Superb hardware with lacking driver support does not make a good hardware purchase IMHO. For example a quick search of the Creative website revealed the latest driver release for your sound card was 2015.
I am also having a similar problem with creative sound blaster audigy fx 5.1 pcie-express sound card. I used to have it in my older pc 32 bit running Windows 10 and it was working fine. But recently I upgraded the pc to Windows 10 64 bits and moved the card over. Installed the driver and the program controller. The program controller did not recognize the sound card. It keeps reporting that "Sound card not found" but Device Manager sees and installs the card.
@Nigel Archer I found new policies listed in a spreadsheet in the security baselines for both Windows 10 1903 and 1909. You would need to download the baseline zip file for each baseline from the link below and then locate the spreadsheet "New settings in Windows v190x" that is in the "documentation" folder.
@yannara The security baseline spreadsheets only show new policies. I have not been able to find the traditional group policy reference spreadsheet for Win10 v1909 that Microsoft has historically released that list all policies. If anyone locates these, please post... they are needed references.
I can tell you Eset is not compatible with Windows 1903. Was having applications lock up on me and take for ever to load if at all not until I uninstalled ESET Internet Security latest version as of last night. Hopefully they will fix it sooner than later. May is around the corner!
So far we are not aware of any issues with 19H1. If you can reproduce the issue, please configure Windows to generate complete memory dumps as per and when the system freezes, manually trigger a crash to generate one. When done, compress it, upload it to a safe location and drop me a message with a download link.
No offense I do not wish to break my computer any further than what it was now that I have it working again. All I can tell you is that if you upgrade to 1903 from 1803 using Insider preview option your Eset installation will go corrupt and cause issues with programs loading in a timely manner and such. I verified that I am not the only one with this problem on the Guru3d Forums someone else also mentioned a similar problem. I would hope that Eset engineers are investigating regardless. For now I am going to wait until the software is updated.
We extensively test our products with Insider preview builds so that our products are compatible with new versions of Windows 10 when officially released but have not encountered the issues you've mentioned. Unfortunately, without a memory dump or reproducing the issue on our end we cannot pinpoint the issue.
@Marcos, I had the same problem. Apps are getting opened slowly or some apps not even start. (Starts actually but no GUI shows up). I was almost report this until I see one of your reply on another thread.
@denis_estevez I'm sorry I can't say I can help you personally, but you're on the right board to find answers. There are a few guides and solutions for getting around Code 12 though, have a look see and I'm sure you'll find something.
@ced95, no, I gave up after endless trying :(! I feel so sad and awful for having a piece of kit intended for the purpose and not being able to fully utilise it. I managed to snap an offer on a Sonnet egpu 750ex, so i have two enclosures now cluttering the house. So I'm hoping to install the rx5700xt on one (for mac purposes), and an nvidia on the second (for windows/gaming purposes).
I'm also frustrated as I can't flash my 5700xt card for OC, or run the software from amd for controlling its led colours etc. And I don't have (nor want) to have a PC lying around the house just to do this.
Also rolling back the windows 10 version was not an option for me as i wanted to run MFS2020 O:)! Still, i also tried that as well for the heck of it, and various other w10 versions, but to no success either.
I figured having two similar AMD cards was really the issue in that windows wasn't allowing it or not finding resources for it - rather odd since in mac you CAN :s. But even disabling the internal card fully would not even resolve the 12 error code issue.
I literally spent days, and nearly a week performing combination of possibilities and troubleshooting. And I also read another poster who gave up. My hope is a W10 update or amd drivers may fix it one day...?
Support for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2 distros is being backported to Windows 10 version 1903, and 1909! Yes, you read that right. We heard how much you liked WSL 2 and wanted to expand its accessibility, and over the last few months we worked on bringing it back to 1903 and 1909.
We are Ty (Tito) Citrin, a PM, and Mitchell Minkoff, an engineer, both working in Windows Servicing. Together we proudly help keep customers protected and productive by working with feature teams like the WSL team to ship security fixes that address Windows vulnerabilities and cool new features just like this!
WSL 2 is a new version of the architecture in WSL that changes how Linux distributions interact with Windows. Each Linux distribution can run as WSL 1 or as WSL 2, and can be switched between at any time. All the features for WSL 2 distros will now be available for an even larger user base:

For version 1909, the build 18363.1049 is equivalent to which of the version 2004 build? I see in the release notes for Windows Subsystem for Linux that Build 20190 was released August 12, 2020; 8 days before this post. Is it included in 18363.1049?
I recently upgraded some of my home PC's to Windows 10 build 1903 and was curious what audio performance would be like in a worst case under optimized scenario. I was pleasantly surprised! This is a very rough demonstration showing low latency audio using Cakewalk with Windows 10 build 1903 and nothing more than an on-board audio chipset and a really old PC (built in 2008). Audio is low-fi in the video since the sound is going through some ancient desktop speakers and recorded through my phone. This is intentional
The machine is a very old Core I7 PC built in 2007 that I recently upgraded to windows 10 build 1903. I was curious about audio performance so I did a quick test in Cakewalk to check audio and was pleasantly surprised when I was able to use WASAPI at the lowest latency setting (144 samples) with no audio glitches whatsoever, using just the onboard RealTek audio chipset.
The test showed live playback with a virtual instrument, but it also worked well with standard audio track playback. For this test I used WASAPI exclusive mode with the onboard Realtek audio device, since Windows 10 shared mode low latency only works with the Microsoft inbox HDAudio driver presently. I haven't come across any other on-board devices which support Windows 10 low latency with shared mode.
