I am running TS3 android 3.3.7 on 2 separate devices (one Samsung and one Redmi) and this does not work for me. With the settings enabled as you said I still only transmit when holding the PTT button.
As for reinstalling, way back I had a problem with synchronizing. When something gone wrong, synchro would not stop and on another start, the app was totally unresponsive so I uninstalled it few times when it happened.
I was testing and using both of these over the last couple days. They are both great. Mumble was definitely a lot easier to setup if you are only looking for one channel/server. The Plumble client app from the Google play store I found to be very good. I was getting some feedback issues with Mumble but if you have a headset this will not be an issue. Maybe someone can give more info. how to avoid this. I used Push to Talk with Mumble minus headsets.
I am used to TS2 and TS3 is just great. There were some things that were not clear. There was nothing on the settings page that said the default voice port was UDP. The other 2 port settings are TCP by default. With the Android app I did not even have to enter the Voice port number. With the iOS app the default voice port had to be entered. From a client standpoint the TS3 and Mumble apps are about the same difficulty where setup is concerned. TS3 is definitely the more feature rich when it comes to the server. If you have not used the TS3 server before it will take some time to familiarize yourself with it. Back to the android client app for TS3, there is a wrench symbol at the top 3rd from the right. It is a good idea to click on this and put a check mark in "Hands Free" if you are not using a headset and "Bluetooth" if you are using a bluetooth headset. Also, on the Settings page of the plugin the Server Query Admin Password is the password for the Web Interface. Click on the eye on the right side to show the password. Copy the password and then paste it in the password field of the Web Interface for first login. Once logged in you can change the pass to something more manageable, easier to remember.

TS3 plugin:
1) in the field info. for the ports if would be nice if they were TCP/UDP and then the port nubmer, just because of the voice channel being default UDP.
2) Would like to see the web interface button moved to the toolbar.
I want to add this after using both mumble and teamspeak3 for some time now. Mumble when not in use definitely uses less cpu resources. If you want close to flatline cpu when not in use you might want to use mumble. Teamspeak3 is going to take 3-5 percent even when not in use.

One of the workarounds was to assign the PTT button to IRN (Team Speak3) and the SOS button to Zello. Well, we can live with that, but how could we bypass this problem with the new Inrico TM-7 (that only has the PTT button on the mic)?
The solution for the TM-7 and all other network radios, and while Zello does not remove this stupid function (or at least to allow the user to decide to turn it ON or OFF), is as simple as to install Zello v3.53 on our devices and the problem is solved.
Remember to disable Auto-Updates or else, you will get the new version installed again. One good practice, is to keep a local copy of the Zello v3.53 on your android radio so you can install it again and again. It just takes a few seconds and the user data will be preserved.
