Hello PEGers --

We'll be having another meetup this SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3rd at the usual
place and time:

3PM at the GRAND CASINO BAKERY in CULVER CITY.

Last meeting was super-inspiring, with a nice mix of regulars and a
few new faces (see Dan Novy's meeting minutes, posted to the group
here: http://groups.google.com/group/peg-la/browse_thread/thread/4a5f0093989bdb64#).

One of the things we talked about last time was the notion of a
LetterBoxing project/demo, which we will be talking about some more,
and maybe trying out in some form, at the upcoming meeting. We'll also
talk about recent and forthcoming events and projects, including GLOW,
some LARP activity and the Big Games program at IndieCade. And, as
usual, anything else anyone wants to talk about that falls under the
umbrella of pervasive/locative/ambient/ARG-LARPing is fair game!

Hope to see you there!

Hey folks,

Sadly, I'll be out of town and miss another meeting, but I do want to crow proudly about a game that we (Aaron Vanek, myself and a crucial handful of others) ran at last weekend's West Hollywood Book Fair: the Lovecraft-themed 'Trail of the Necronomicon'.  We even got mentioned in this brief photo-album on the LA Times website!

The most unexpected thing about the game, to me, was that it was the younger kids - particularly girls around 8-9 years old, but also teenagers - that seemed to enjoy it most.  Even though they had no idea who HP Lovecraft was.

Cheers!

Hi Andrew:

You know I was thinking about going down there but I had just gotten back from a trip and was pretty wiped out. It sounded really interesting. You should submit it to IndieCade next year.
