The Earl and Countess of Grantham request the honour of your company at a ball to celebrate the completion of the first motion picture ever filmed at Downton Abbey.
Evening dress of the 1920’s or ‘30’s or modern evening dress is admired but not required and guests from both Upstairs and Downstairs are welcome at this gala event. Both the ton and our recent guests from Hollywood are invited. Our ball is set circa 1929.
The sensational American band Sara & Swingtime will play vintage ballroom dance music, romantic waltzes, hot Swing, Charleston, and cool Blues from the 1920’s and 30’s.
If you need a brush-up on the fashionable dances, there will be a pre-ball dance class at 7pm. Neither partners nor experience is needed for either the dance class or the ball.
When you’re exhausted from dancing, enjoy our celebrated no-host bar (We don’t have Prohibition on this side of the pond), light snacks, and photographic opportunities in the Salon.
