A shot rang out. A swinging 1930's dance party at the Hollywood
home of retired detectives Tommy and Tuppence Beresford is suddenly interrupted
by an attempted murder in the ballroom.
Mystery spices up the program of waltzes, jive ("Lindy Hop" and "East Coast Swing" to you Americans), fox trots, tangos, Latin, and Blues. Sara and Swingtime will play the latest American tunes for your dancing pleasure and, yes, they play waltzes as beautifully as they play Swing! There's something for everyone. At 7pm, there will be a pre-ball workshop in "Fred & Ginger-style" slow foxtrot and in East Coast Swing. Formal dancing continues from 8pm to midnight. Meanwhile, we’ll try to discover “who done it.”
1930's costume or vintage or modern evening dress is admired but not required. White tie or black tie optional. The Beresfords and their friends are an easy-going set and hope you will interact with them and their more famous detective friends.
Surely, their combined intelligence will help us discover "who done it" before the end of the evening. And, meanwhile, we'll certainly not let an inconvenience like a murder interfere with our dancing.
There will be a full bar outside the ballroom and a light snack buffet in the parlour, where we’ll gather during the third intermission to unravel the mystery!
