Stream lags and the freezes after some time for end users on different networks

I am working on a video conferencing app. The issue i am currently having is that when users on different network joins the conference call, after a very short time, their stream begins to lag and then finally freezes. Is there a way i can improve on this.

If users are connected to the same network(LAN), it lasts longer and hardly freezes.
