We're planning a few more rounds, using our own methods — this was our starting point today, centring on a "Causal Layered Analysis" of the topic.  Hopefully we'll have a more digested summary of findings from the series as a whole in about a month!

=Catch up=

Detailed notes?
Transcriptions?
Moment-to-moment, more transparency from people when it's not recorded or transcribed

Podcasts might be another way to go.

The sparks of langauge can be very useful

=Litany=
 Artificial in contrast to what?
Intelligence (in contrast to what?)
AI can be a tiring meme.

=System=
Teaching and AI... sometimes we end up teaching AI in the classroom!
There are various models of assessment
- "Can machines think?" We chatted about what was going on in 1950
- Can people use AI to *teach* a class?
- Is this valuable?

If teachers spend time correcting AI's work, then what's the point?
(https://time.com/7026050/chatgpt-quit-teaching-ai-essay/) Cf. Alan Turing, where at least we would be teaching an AI system!

=Worldview=
Credentialing and AI not "Education and AI" b/c "AI and learning" has been a thing for a while.

AI is not going away

=Myth=
AI will help instead of hurting, and that's a bit weird! (Vannevar Bush)

Does a Language model of the peeragogy handbook exist...?

In terms of context, this could be useful as a tool to go forward in this inquiry.

==
- Tossing out the old dishwasher!
- Turn on and off / program / AI / robotics / fix the systems when they break!
- Different levels of system interface
- Different possible meditative activities
- CityTech poster session: Serge & Mary spent hours on their
presentation, to make it nice you have to put time and effort
into fixing it up, to make an award-winning poster for next year
(E.g., not too much color.)

*Citizen.chat* is something that Charles Blass is collaborating on
(You can make public or private libraries.)
Peeragogy Handbook might go in there?

"I've been hesitant to engage with AI tools off the shelf BUT this is a bundle of open source models."

Mashup of Englebart ABC & Rheingold stuff and "Wisdom layer" still has tremendous potential.  Having to do with community wisdom gardening.

Everyone is trying to make the quick buck, but if I ask questions of AI, it will give back incorrect answers.

"Rebuilding laptops" is one of Serge's hobbies — how can you get through a bios password.  Asking Claude it says "this is illegal"... and it apologies that it lies.

We're not yet where we should be.

==

**1. Review the intention: what do we expect to learn or make together?**

**2. Establish what is happening: what and how are we learning?**

**3. What are some different perspectives on what’s happening?**

**4. What did we learn or change?**

**5. What else should we change going forward?**
