Peeragogists —

Finn and colleagues are working on an open collaboration platform for nonprofits, and I thought you would be a good group for them to talk to. They are based in Singapore. Maybe they could drop in on one of your hangouts?

Aw — this email bounced because I'm not part of the Peeragogy Google group (and thus do not have permission to post messages there).

Would you be willing to add me or relay my message to the group?

Hello Peeragogists, really love your work!

Howard and had a really great chat about open collaboration yesterday. I'm passionate about bringing open source principles out of the software world and so we got to speak of Peeragogy.

My colleague and I spent the past 18 months building Openly — a GitHub-like platform for open collaboration. Unfortunately, we were blinded by enthusiasm when we started developing our platform and so we never asked the community whether what we are doing is actually helpful and useful.

Well, now we're trying to change that. I'd love to hear and learn from your experiences openly collaborating on non-code. What works great? What is missing? How can we help?

Anyone willing to have a brief chat? 😊 You can reach me at fi...@openly.one.

Thanks for introducting Finn, Howard.

I'd be happy to meet sometime and discuss experiences. We are due for
a production meeting sometime this month, and if we can get the
timezones sorted out, maybe you'd be interested to join that. Also
I'll aime to try out Openly (briefly) so that I can give you some
feedback. We made an experiment with PubPub for some recent writing
and I think it hasn't exactly transformed our collaboration dynamic.

Kathy, thanks for the note as well! What's on on Friday?

Best,
Joe

Thanks for adding me to the Peeragogy Google group, Joe!

I'll send you an email and we can set up a time to chat.

And, yes, I would love to join your next production meeting. Very flexible with my schedule, too, so don't worry about my timezone at all.

What is this next meeting about? Is it general enough for a newb like me to join? What tool do you use for the call? How do I find more details?

We generally use Zoom these days, so that calls can be joined by phone as well as internet, and it tends to be newbie friendly.
