_. Sir Swinton Thomas, PC, former High Court judge, died 12 Aug, 2016. He was 85. He married in 1967, Angela, daughter of James Wright, AFC, & widow of Sir Anthony Mohun Leckonby Cope, 15th Baronet, who died in 1966. She durvives him, with a son and a daughter. The Cope baronetcy (cr 1611), became dormant or extinct in 1972 with the demise of the 16th baronet.
