Wonderful news!  It's always exciting to hear about the birth of an heir apparent,  especially among the higher ranks of the nobility (when courtesy titles are involved).

I believe there are now only 4 Dukes without heir apparents: Leinster (nephew), Manchester (brother), and Westminster (cousin) all have heir presumptives, while York has no heir at all.

I believe the heir presumptive to the Westminster title is for the Marquessate of Westminster. There not being an heir as yet for the dukedom.

Dean, you are quite right.  The heir presumptive to  Westminster is only to the marquessate.

Of course, with the Duke getting married in a few months, hopefully, there will be an heir or two at some point to the dukedom.

Brooke,
Yes its good news for the Roxburghe title as there are now 2 heirs of the same generation-the Marquess of Bowmont and his first cousin Arthur)son of Lord (Ted) Innes Ker.
Hopefully we shall hear some good news about the Westminster title in mid next year.

Hi Malcolm.

Yes, wonderful news in the present, and hopefully future good news to come re: Westminster.

I think the dukedom that may be in the most jeopardy though, is Leinster.  Edward, the nephew and hp to the Duke, is the only male in remainder, except for  71 year old cousin.  Edward has 2 young daughters (the youngest born in 2021), so maybe there is some hope for a future son.
