Staveley - The engagement is announced between Harry, son of the late Mr Simon Scrope and of Mrs Scrope, of Danby on Yore, North Yorkshire, and Rosanna, youngest daughter of the late Mr Simon Staveley and of Mrs Staveley, of Musterfield, North Yorkshire.

Simon Henry (Harry) Richard b 1972 s of Simon Egerton SCROPE 1934-2010 (gs of 4th Earl of ELLESMERE 1872-1944 (f of 6th Duke of SUTHERLAND 1915-2000) and gt gs of 4th Earl of DURHAM 1855-1929 etc etc) whom he succ as head of that ancient gentry family of Danby and Jane b 1939 d of Sir Kenneth Wade PARKINSON 1908-81 and Hon Dorothy LANE-FOX 1909-80 d of 1st & last Baron BINGLEY 1870-1947, gd of 2nd Viscount HALIFAX 1839-1934 and gt gd of 11th Earl of DEVON 1807-88 etc etc.

Rosanna Louise b 1988 reg Q3 Yorks d of Simon Henry STAVELEY 1949-98 scion of that gentry family of North Stainley Hall by his 1977 m reg Q2 Yorks to Judy O (b 1954) d of Lt-Col Edward Charles Augustus WILLIS FLEMING TD 1903-74 scion of that gentry family of f/o Stoneham and his 2nd w Josephine Catherine TEMPLETON KNIGHT 1922-2004.
