4th Baron Forteviot (1938-2026)

According to an announcement in The Telegraph, John James Evelyn DEWAR, 4TH  Baron Forteviot, died on June 22, 2026, at the age of 88.

His Lordship  was the son of the 3rd Baron, and he succeeded to the family honors upon his father's death in 1993.

 The late 4th baron was married to  Lady Elizabeth WALDEGRAVE, (1936-2003) , a daughter of the 12th Earl Waldegrave.  The couple had 3 daughters,  Mary (wife of the 17th Baron Strange), Miranda and Henrietta.  

Their only son, Alexander John Edward (b. March 4, 1971) now succeeds his father as the 5th Baron.  He is married with one son, James Alexander Thomas  (b. July 5, 2000), who now hecome the heir apparent.
