The engagement was announced in May 2007 between Alexander Desmond
Sursock Cochrane (b 7 May 1973) son and heir of Sir (Henry) Marc
Sursock Cochrane, 4th Baronet (b 23 Oct 1946), and Lady Cochrane, of
County Wicklow, and Beirut, & Alannah Weston, only daughter of
(Willard Gordon) Galen Weston (b 29 Oct 1940), of Berkshire & Toronto,
the billionaire, b his wife the former Hilary Frayne (b 1942) (she was
Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario 1997-2002).

Reminds me of the so-called "Dollar Princesses"-- late 19th- early
20th century American girls from wealthy families who married British
peers and baronets.

OK-- technically, the bride-to-be is Canadian. However, I guess with
the price of inflation today, even a billionaire can only afford to
"buy" a baronetcy!
