He was s of Charles Francis MEADE 1881-1975 (gs of 3^rd Earl of CLANWILLIAM 1759-1879, etc) and Lady Aileen Hilda BRODRICK 1890-1970 d of 1st Earl of MIDLETON 1856-1942 and Lady Hilda CHARTERIS 1854-1901 d of 10^th Earl of WEMYSS & [6^th] MARCH 1818-1914, etc. He m 1957 Lady Sophia Catherine GATHORNE-HARDY b 1936 d of 4^th Earl of CRANBROOK 1900-78 and Fidelity 1912-2009 d of Hugh Exton SEEBOHM 1867-1946 sometime head of that gentry family f/o Poynder’s End (f of the LP Baron SEEBOHM TD 1909-90) and his 1^st w Leslie Grace GRIBBLE c1883-1913, and had two sons and two daus.
