From the Telegraph of 6 July 2022: ELLIOTT Verena. Died peacefully on 23rd June 2022, aged 86. Much loved mother, grandmother, beloved wife of the late John, and keen gardener who will be greatly missed. The Funeral to be held at St Mary The Boston’s on 15th July at 2 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to be shared between RNLI and St Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough.

She was d of Lt-Col Cuthbert Henry DAWNAY 1891-1964 (gs of 7th Viscount DOWNE 1812-57, gt gs of 6th Earl of ESSEX 1803-92 etc etc) and Marjorie Kathleen LODER 1897-1986 (gd of 3rd Earl of LISTOWEL 1833-1924, gt gd of 3rd Marquess of AILESBURY etc etc). She m 1958 John Antony de la Cour d 2012 s of Yule ELLIOTT, and had three daus.
