As I just happened to be looking into a related point earlier:
The father of Tom Kingston, (William) Martin Kingston (1949-), was (per his Who's who entry) educ. Middlewich Secondary Modern Sch., Hartford Coll. of Further Education, and the Univ. of Liverpool (LL.B.), was called to the Bar from the Middle Temple, and was appointed Q.C. in 1992, being a Recorder from 1991-1999. Tom Kingston's mother, Jill Mary (1950-), is daughter of Robert Philip Sidney Bache (1907-1984), O.B.E., of The Brook House, Himbleton, Droitwich, Worcs., managing director, George Salter & Co. tablewares (a family business, passed to the Bache family when their relative George Salter d. 1917- see
https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/George_Salter_and_Co and
https://www.chu.cam.ac.uk/media/uploads/files/Bache.pdf for details). His wife was Jessie (1915-1989), dau. of Sir William Joseph Pearman(-)Smith (1863-1939), solicitor, Mayor (1899-1902), councillor, and alderman of Walsall. Jill Mary Bache's sister, Jessie Elizabeth (1941-) m. 1st, 1990, Brig. Hon. Henry Ernest Christopher Willoughby (1932-2009), of Somerleyton House, White Hart Street, Harling, Norfolk, late Coldstream Guards, s. of Michael Guy Percival Willoughby, 11th Baron Middleton.
(William) Martin Kingston s. of (William) Robin Kingston (1918-1994), of Droitwich, Worcs., formerly of Crewe, Cheshire, a noted primatologist (in 1993, awarded the American Society of Primatologists' Senior Biology and Conservation Award; writer on varied subjects inc. 'captive breeding of Alouatta belzebul [red-handed howler monkeys] and Chiropotes satanas utahicki [Uta Hick's bearded saki]'; his wife was Iris Edith (née Grocott).
Based on his birth record's location and mother's name, his parents appear to have been George W(illiam?) Kingston, of Carlisle, Cumbria (probably either he b. 1898, d. 1969 or b. 1897, d. 1975?) and Gladys (née Hutton). [n.b.- the only death record for a Gladys Kingston had her as 1893-1971, probate giving address as 3, Crane House, Hawkhurst, Kent; with this in mind, the G. W. Kingston b. 1897, d. 1975 at Sheppey. Kent is probably more likely to be the individual in question than is he b. 1898, d. 1969 at Hampstead, but this is not of course definitive).
