From the Telegraph of 20 Dec 2025: FITZROY Veronica Mary (née Ruttledge) died peacefully at home on 2nd December. She will be sadly missed by her children, Joanna, Michael and Shauna and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at St Mary's Church, Norton Subcourse on 5th February at 11.45 a.m.
She was d of Maj Robert Francis RUTTLEDGE 1899-2002 sometime head of that Irish gentry family and Mabel Rose 1901-96 d of William Creagh BURKE c1868-1935 of Cloonee, Ballinrobe, co Mayo and Kathleen PERSSE c1867-1937 scion of that Irish gentry family. She m 1956 Lord Edward Anthony Charles FITZROY 1928-2007 s of 10th Duke of GRAFTON 1892-1970 and his 2 w Lucy Eleanor d of Sir George Stapylton BARNES KCB KCSI 1858-1946 (2x gt gs of 4 Viscount CHETWYND 1721-91) and Sybil de Gournay 1863-1955 d of Charles BUXTON 1823-71 (s of Sir Thomas Fowell BUXTON 1 Bt 1786-1845) and Emily Mary 1824-1908 d of Sir Henry HOLLAND 1 Bt 1788-1873 (f of 1 Viscount KNUTSFORD 1825-1914) and Margaret Emma 1792-1830 d of James Stamford CALDWELL 1759-1838 and Elizabeth STAMFORD 1754-1831, and had a son and two daus as above.
