CORY, Sir Clinton Charles Donald, 5th Baronet (1937 - 2022)

The death of this baronet last year appears to have escaped our notice.

According to a probate search he died 11 October 2022.  This had already been reflected on Debrett's Online which tipped me off, but Kershaw & the SCB still list him as living.

He was the son of Sir Clinton James Donald CORY, 4th Baronet (1909 - 1991) and Mabel Mary HUNT (d 2001). He was unm. No issue.

He is succeeded by his kinsman:  (Sir) James Maurice Perkins CORY (or perhaps PERKINS CORY) (6th Baronet), born 1966, subject to proving his claim.  He is a g-g-grandson of the 1st baronet (descended via the 3rd son of the 1st bt)

He is m twice with issue by first m (2 dau).

The heir presumptive is now the 6th baronet's first cousin: Jonathan Andrew Campbell CORY (born 1970) m with issue (2 daus).  There is then a final line of male heirs - John Philip Francis CORY (born 1941), his son (born 1971) and two grandsons (born 2006/2007).

Thanks for this Henry. The family is PERKINS CORY, although it may be the new baronet and his daus will use the surname CORY alone. The Bt's father and uncle both legally changed their surname from CORY to PERKINS CORY in 1964, but continued to use the latter part of the surname name alone. Their deaths were registered with surname PERKINS CORY in 2011 & 2021. The new Bt's daus were reg in Truro as Amy Laura PERKINS CORY b 2002 reg Q3 and Emma Cate PERKINS CORY b 2005 reg Q3. Similarly, the hp's surname is PERKINS CORY and his daus were registered with this double barreled patronymic (see the following post)

Thanks for the clarification. Eventually a birthday for the new Baronet is needed.
