Tom W.R. Royds became engaged to Tatiana J. van Vredenburch.

He is a son of Mr and Mrs James Royds. She is the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugo van Vredenburch.

She is jonkvrouw Tatiana van Vredenburch, daughter of jonkheer Hugo van Vredenburch (Dutch nobility) and his wife Sasha.

Hello Netty, he appears to be of the family of Royds of Falinge (BLG 1965); a James Clement Royds of Prior House, Haydon Bridge, Hexham, Northumberland, management consultant, was b. 1958; the 1958 Surrey N.W. birth record of a James C. Royds gives his mother's maiden name as "Cooke". The 1965 volume has Clement Michael Charles Royds (b. 1931), Lt, 5th Dragoon Guards, as having m. 1956, Victoria, elder dau. of R. C. Cooke, of Copseham Rise, East Horsley, Surrey. This is the only Royds/ Cooke marriage in U.K. records that I could find, taking place at Surrey S.W. Other issue Radcliffe P. (b. 1961, Northumberland W.) and Sophia L. (b. 1964, Northumberland W.). C. M. C. Royds's sister, who m. 1952, has "issue, two sons and one dau" listed, so I'm not sure why his own aren't included, given the preceding edition was 1952; nevertheless, this seems to be the only option given the records.

Forgot to clarify, for those who haven't seen the Telegraph announcement, that it indicates James Royds to be of Haydon Bridge; also, thepeerage.com cites BP 2003 as the source for Clement Michael Charles Royds, of Armthwaite, Cumbria, as father of Sophie (sic) Louise Royds; she m. 1992, Rupert Charles Bevan, s. of Hugo Peter Charles Bevan and Carol Fane (descendant of the 8th Earl of Westmorland, Lowther baronets, Lords Clinton, etc).
