St Levan B - Mike St Aubyn (1959-2002)

Mike St Aubyn, married to Astrid (Mrs Astrid St Aubyn), and father of
three children, died in 2002, aged 43. He was elder son of Lt
Commander Geoffrey St Aubyn RN (1922- killed 1964 with his wife),
himself middle son of Captain Hon Lionel Michael St Aubyn (1878-1965)
[a son of the 1st Baron St Levan] by his wife Lady Mary Theresa Parker
(1881-1932), only dau of the 3rd Earl of Morley.

Curious that Mike died aged 43, and his father died aged 42. (Not sure
of his mother's age).

Mike St Aubyn was a cousin of Sarah Elizabeth St Aubyn, wife of Hugh
Adrian Bethell, and was in distant remainder to the barony St Levan.

Interesting story about their ancestor Sir John St Aubyn, 5th Bt, and
his spendthrift ways. Shades of Lord Egremont, who also married his
mistress after the birth of their children, but with not one but two
families by two different mistresses. The last Bt discarded the older
mistress and eventually married the second, who was painted by John
Opie. The Bt, who died 1839, was quite popular in Cornwall, despite
his thirteen illegitimate children. One of his sons by his second
mistress, later his wife, was eventually created a baronet again, and
was father of the 1st Lord St Levan
