He was s of Rupert Edward DE ZOETE 1913-98 and Anna Patricia 1915-2004 dau of Maj Guy Melvile GIBBS TD 1889-1959 (gt gs of Antony GIBBS 1765-1815 who was gf of 1 Baron ALDENHAM 1819-1907) and (Margaret) Olivia 1890-1964 d of Henry Percy ST JOHN 1854-1921 (gt gs of 3 Viscount BOLINGBROKE & [4] ST JOHN 1761-1824). He m 1969 Moyra Jane b 1946 d of Vice Adm Sir Peter DAWNAY KCVO CB DSC OStJ 1904-89 (gs of 8 Viscount DOWNE 1844-1924) and Lady Angela Christine Rose MONTAGU DOUGLAS SCOTT 1906-2000 d of 7 Duke of BUCCLEUCH 1864-1935 etc (who was also f of The Princess ALICE Duchess of GLOUCESTER), and had a dau as above.
