From the Telegraph of 30 March 2019: SPEIGHT Elizabeth Ann nee PERSSE died peacefully at home on 6th March 2019, aged 86. Widow of Derrick and wonderful mother of Philippa, Jonathan and Rachel. Granny to Susan, Laura, Oliver, Katie, Rosie, William and Edward. Thanksgiving will be held at Christ Church, Chorleywood, Herts on 11th April at 12 noon. She leaves us with so many happy memories.
She was d of Capt Edmund Maturin PERSSE MC (1890-1964), scion of the Irish gentry family of that name, and his cousin Kathleen Mary (1897-1979) d of Maj William Arthur PERSSE (1863-1925) and Katherine Ellen GEHLE (d 1943). She m 1956 (reg Q4 Kent) (Clifford) Derrick (1926-2009) son of Sydney SPEIGHT (1897-1975) by his 1923 m (reg Q4 Hertfordshire) to Daisy Agnes PURTON (1897-1984), and had issue:
1. Jonathan Derrick SPEIGHT (b 1969 reg Q2 Hertfordshire) he m 1994 (reg Q3 Hertfordshire) Clare Frances (b 1969 reg Q3 Dorset) d of Rt Hon Sir David Nicholas Ramsay LATHAM (b 1942) and Margaret Elizabeth FORREST, and had a son (Oliver Edward b 2002 reg Q3 Leeds) and a dau (Katherine Frances b 2003 reg Q3 Leeds)
1. Philippa Claire (b 1967 reg Q4 London) she m 1995 (reg Q2 Hertfordshire) John C FULLER and had two daus (Susan Mary b 1997 reg Q2 Norfolk and Laura Elizabeth b 1998 reg Q4 Norfolk)
2. Rachel Elizabeth (b 1971 reg Q2 Hertfordshire) she m 2003 (reg Q4 London) Richard A S GORDON
