From the Telegraph of 30 May 2023: PONSONBY The Hon Carolyn Mary died at home on 26th May after a long period of illness. Beloved sister of the late John and stepbrother Michael. A friend to many in her years in France. Cremation in Nimes shortly.

She was d of 2^nd Baron SYSONBY 1903-1956 (f of 3^rd & final Baron SYSONBY 1945-2009) and Sallie Whitney 1901-79 d of Leonard Cutler SANFORD 1868-1950 (American surgeon and amateur ornithologist) and Henrietta Edward WHITNEY 1876-1963. She never married.
