Adored husband, father and grandfather and wonderful friend to so many. Funeral for immediate family only and a celebration of his life to be announced later...

He was son of Maj Hon Sir Thomas William Assheton FRANKLAND 11th Bt 1902-44 (s of the 10th Bt and The Baroness ZOUCHE 1875-1965) and (as her 2nd h, her 1st was 5th Earl of Stradbroke by whom she begat the 6th Earl b 1937 who is f of 8 sons & 7 daus) Pamela Catherine Mabell 1915-72 d of Hon Edward James KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH 1890-1917 (s of 1st Baron SHUTTLEWORTH 1844-1939) and Sibell Eleanor Maud ADEAN 1890-1980 scion of that gentry family of Babraham. He m 1978 Sally Olivia d of Roderic Murray BARTON 1920-93 of Bungay, Suffolk by his 1945 m reg Q3 London to Elizabeth M BELL, and had a son and a dau. His son succeeds him:
