Some information about the elder son of the writer; he was for
sometime Diana's step-uncle (half-brother of her step-mother Raine).

Ian Hamilton McCorquodale (b 11 Oct 1937), elder son of Hugh
(1898-1963) and Dame Barbara Cartland, or Mary Barbara Hamilton
Cartland (d May 2000 aged 98), married 1stly 1970 (div 1993) Anna
Chisholm, issue 2 daus; md 2ndly circa 2000, Bryony Brind, a former
ballet dancer. Issue two daughters - Tara, 37, and Iona, 34

His second wife Bryony Brind (b 1960) was reportedly the mistress (or
"alleged paramour", in the actual language) of Prince Michael of
Kent. Prince Michael later became involved with an ex-girlfriend of
Ian McCorquodale.

Daughter Iona became engaged 2002 to Keith Hutchinson, son of the late
Mr & Mrs William Hutchinson, of Darlington

Some details on the Chisholm ancestry of Mrs Anna McCorquodale and the
present Lord Rosslyn

[picture included]

"Wollogorang was built in the early 1840s. It was bought by Harry
Chisholm's parents John William Chisholm and his second wife Mary
Bowman in 1854. Harry Chisholm was born at Wollogorang in 1858 and
grew up there. He bred sheep, shorthorn cattle and horses at
Wollogorang and founded the bloodstock firm of H. Chisholm and Co with
his eldest brother John; Harry Chisholm's frequent absences at his
Randwick stables in Sydney had necessitated the appointment of Herbert
Belcher as manager of Wollogorong. The Chisholms had three children,
John, Roy and Sheila, who were all born at Wollogorang. They sold
Wollogorang in 1912, which might be when Margaret Chisholm gave the
dress to Ellen Belcher. Harry Chisholm died in 1927; Margaret died in
1940."

She was born a McKellar, but no details are available. Was the John
Chisholm (1918-1944) below her grandson, and not her son? The
daughter Sheila was presumably the same Margaret Sheila McKellar
Chisholm who married Lord Loughborough, and was grandmother of the
present Earl of Rosslyn

His mother (name unknown) divorced his father and later married a Col.
N.H. Prendergast. His wife Patricia Hulton-Harrop (d 1964), whom he
married 1940, was the sister of John Hulton-Harrop (d 6 Sep 1939), the
first British pilot to be killed in the Second World War (by friendly
fire). Their daughter Anna Chisholm (b 1941) married 1970 (and
divorced 1993) Ian McCorquodale (b. 1937), elder son of Dame Barbara
Cartland. They also had a baby son John (b. 1944) who is now married
and lives in the United States with his wife and two children. I
don't suppose that the Alexander Chisholm who married Lady Eliza
Pakenham (b. 1966) in 1983 (?) is his son.
