Other readers may be sad, as I was, to learn of the death on 13th September 2022 of the Hon. Lady (Tessa) KESWICK. Born in 1942 to the 15th Lord LOVAT and his wife Rosamond (nee DELVES BROUGHTON), she was married, firstly, to the 14th Lord REAY and later to Sir Henry KESWICK.

I am not certain of this but it looked like the mascot from the Queen's
state car was transferred to the hearse for the journey from Norholt to
Buckingham Palace.

Somebody with better knowledge than me may be able to identify the ladies
in the background who I take to be the Ladies in Waiting

The line up when the coffin was put in its place in Westminster Hall was as
follows:-
The King
The Queen & The Princess Royal
Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence
The Duke of York
The Earl of Wessex & the Countess of Wessex
The Princess of Wales & the Princess of Wales
The Duke of Sussex & the Duchess of Sussex
Peter Phillips & the Earl of Snowdon
The Duke of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent & Prince Michael of Kent
The Duke of Norfolk & Lord Carrington
Note that this line up does not reflect precedence which would see the
Prince of Wales third after the King & Queen

In this link,if you go to the 2nd picture you will see those standing on
the side in Westminster Hall with identification. One identification is
mislabelled-Lord George Windsor is in fact the Earl of St Andrews.

they have stupidly mis-labelled many of them or not identified them at
all.... I posted who I recognised earlier... (which I can add Lady
Margarita Armstrong-Jones to).... they seem to have got quite a few errors
(but then its why I dont read the Daily Fail.... they never get
names/titles right... and often mislead people)... Mind you if you read the
articles - apparently the only people who mattered were The Duke & Duchess
of Sussex !! Some how they always seem to make their articles about them?

I'm no fan of his - on the contrary I have had personal bad experiences of
him whilst I was working at Windsor Castle... but regardless of what you
think of The Duke of York, and views on his poor judgement and his not so
private life etc etc... on a personal point of view, I must admit I
didn't like seeing Prince Andrew on his own when they lined up, all the
others had their spouses, or had a relative - he stood there alone. If I
had been Beatrice of Eugenie - I would have stood next to him just so he
wasn't alone - after all he has lost his mother too. Sorry if that's not
popular, but as I say I am not condoning his alleged behaviour - but no one
should be alone at their mother's funeral.

I tried to figure out how many living hereditary peers the new king is
related to. I didn't want to go back hundreds of years, as it would be too
numerous, so my starting point was King Edward VII.

This is what I came up with:

1. Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge
2. Duke of Sussex
3. Duke of York
4. Earl of Wessex
5. Earl of Snowdon
6. Duke of Gloucester
7. Duke of Kent

That first group is fairly straightforward.

Then, from the Duke of Edinburgh's side:

8. Marquess of Milford Haven
9. Earl Mountbatten of Burma

From his grandmother the Queen Mother's Bowes-Lyon side:

10. Earl Granville
11. Earl of Lichfield
12 Earl of Stair
13. Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorn
14..Lord Elphinstone

From their mutual ancestor King George V:

15. Earl of Harewood

From their mutual ancestor King Edward VII:

16. Duke of Fife

Any additions, corrections, etc. are welcome.

Just a reminder that all Dukes are kinsmen of the King as they are all
descended from John of Gaunt Duke of Lancaster, son of Edward III.The same
applies to the Catholic monarchs and ex monarchs of Europe insofar as they
have no recent lines of descent.

Yes, thanks for the reminder.

That's why I specifically stated from Edward VII on. I'm sure there would
be other peers, besides the Dukes , who would qualify if we went back to
those times.

The first person on that list, the Hon Guy Nevill, was the older brother of
the current (and likely last) Marquess of Abergavenny.
