She was d of John Desmond BOYLE. She m William Whitaker (b 1931) s of Cmdr Sir John Francis Whitaker MAITLAND (1903-77), scion of the gentry family of that name of Harrington Hall formerly of Loughton and of the NEAVE Bts, and Bridget DENNY (1908-88), scion of the gentry family of that name of Gurney's Manor, and had 2 sons and 2 daus.

I was looking at that as well, and wondered how an identification could be made. There is virtually no information other than her first and last name in the announcements, plus the fact that both were placed by a Matthew Maitland. The Burke's I have lists her with only two children, John and Camilla, but I know there might be more recent editions. Is Matthew another child?

thepeerage.com, indicating the source to be an e-mail contact, lists Carina Esther Blanche Maitland, dau. of John Desmond Boyle, as mother of John Whitaker (1961-), Camilla Margaretha (1963-), Matthew (1965-) and Jemima Sarah Louise; BMD records for Maitland births, mother 'Boyle' corroborate John and Camilla, and give a Matthew D., b. 1965, and Jemima Sara (sic) L., b. 1967; all births at Paddington. There are two other Maitland/ Boyle births, in 1969 and 1970, but at Newcastle, which I conclude means they are a different family.

This geni site- https://www.geni.com/people/Carina-Maitland/6000000050575971868 - lists Carina Maitland as mother also of 'Kathryn Ambler'; the Ambler Family Trust has as a director Mrs Kathryn Maitland, b. 1966. There is a 2000 marriage record for a Kathryn Ambler and Matthew D. Maitland, which given his appearance in the above records, is corroborative, based upon which the geni site appears to be erroneous.

My pleasure! Also, a quick glance at company records shows a Matthew Desmond Maitland b. 1965, of Aunby Manor, Aunby, Stamford, Lincs., director of a real estate company- given his maternal grandfather's middle name, I'd say this is almost definitely the Matthew Maitland mentioned above.
