From the Times of 14 July 2026: BUXTON James Desmond died peacefully on 6th July. Much-loved husband of Anna, father of Jasper and Oliver, and grandfather of five. Private burial followed by memorial service at 3pm on Friday 31st July at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Murrayfield, Edinburgh. Donations to the Church of the Good Shepherd and the MS Society Scotland.

He was s of Maj Desmond Gurney BUXTON 1898-1987 (gt gs of Sir Edward North BUXTON 2 Bt 1812-58) and Rachel Mary 1906-94 d of Lt-Col Arthur Francis MORSE 1872-1959 scion of that gentry family f/o Lound and Annabel Marjory 1873-1955 d of William Henry HAIG 1841-84 (s of John HAIG 1802-78 who was also f of FM 1 Earl HAIG 1861-1928) and Emily Martha NEWMAN 1850-1929. He m 1975 Anna(bella) b 1947 d of Lt-Cdr Douglas Raymond COLLINS b 1940 and Una Patricia BACKHOUSE 1911-78 (gd of Sir Johnathan Edmund BACKHOUSE 1 Bt 1849-1918), and had two sons as above.
