Just the usual type of notes:
James Michael Shepherd-Cross (1943-), of Bengal Manor, Greens Norton, Northants., paint company executive (and director of the British Coverage Federation, formerly Paint Makers' Association of Great Britain) was High Sheriff of Northants 2013; his first wife was Fiona Mary (1943-1997), dau. of Archibald Crawford Scott by his wife Ruth Mary, dau. of 9th Viscount Dawnay.
There was only one viable candidate for the identity of Edward W. Woods, which subsequent research confirmed: Edward Wilson Woods b. 1948, of The Ploughing Barns, Leighton Buzzard, formerly of Greens Norton Place, Towcester, a metal manufacturing company director and food/ tobacco/ etc wholesaler.
E. W. Woods second son, of five children (2 s. and 3 daus) of Robert ('Robin') Wilmer Woods (1914-1997), Bishop of Worcester 1971-82, K.C.M.G., K.C.V.O. (comprehensive details of his education and career on Wikipedia) by his wife Henrietta Marion (1916-2005), dau. of Kenneth Henry Wilson and Mary Isabel, dau. of George Cadbury, of Northfield Manor, Birmingham, chocolate manufacturer (as in, Cadbury's, but that probably didn't require pointing out!- see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Cadbury and
http://www.pennyghael.org.uk/Cadbury.pdf for more details)
R. W. Woods second son of Edward Sydney Woods (1877-1953), Bishop of Lichfield 1937-53, Lord High Almoner 1946-53, m. 1903, his fifth cousin, Clemence Rachel (-1952), dau. of Robert Barclay (1843-1921), of High Leigh, Hoddesdon, Herts. and of The Grove, Cromer, Norfolk [of that family of Higham- see below for outline of this relationship]. Their elder son was Frank Woods (1907-1992), K.B.E., Archbishop of Melbourne 1957-77 and Anglican Primate of Australia 1971-7 (details of Frank Woods and his father, again, on Wikipedia- otherwise this long post would be even longer!).
E. S. Woods second son of Rev. Frank Woods (1847-), vicar of St Andrew's, Nottingham, by his wife Alice Octavia (1845-1923), daughter of Joseph Fry (1809-1896) of Wanstead, Essex, sugar and coffee merchant, and grand-daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Fry (the prison reformer; she dau. of John Gurney, of Earlham Hall and Gurney Court, banker, by his wife Catherine, dau. of Daniel Bell and Catherine, dau. of David Barclay, of London [see Barclay link above]). Frank and Alice Woods's elder son was (Frank) Theodore Woods (1874-1932), Bishop of Winchester 1923-32, Bishop of Peterborough 1916-23.
Frank Woods was second son of Edward Woods (1814-1903), of 45, Onslow Gardens, S.W.7., a consulting- formerly railway- engineer (for 17 years on Liverpool and Manchester Railway, then the Central Argentine Railway), president of the Institution of Civil Engineers 1886-7 (a council member since 1868), president of the mechanical science section of the British Association 1877, and president of the Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers. He had married, in 1840, Mary, dau. of Thomas Goodman, of Birmingham.
Edward Woods was son of Samuel Woods, a merchant.
There are plenty more details, particularly regarding the clerical careers involved, but given the present length of this post- and the availability of much of the information online- I thought it wisest to cut it off here!
Regarding the cousinship of Edward Sydney Woods and his wife Clemence Rachel Barclay, a look at the Barclay of Higham pedigree (I'm not sure when it was last updated; I saved a copy from the Burke's Peerage website when I was subscribed at one point), supplemented by other sources for some dates, yields the following:
