From the Times of 3 June 2020: ACTON Thomas Stackhouse (Tom) of Acton Scott Hall, Shropshire. Died peacefully at home on 27 May 2020 aged 95 surrounded by his family. Private burial at Acton Scott on 5 June with memorial service at a later date.
He was s of Richard Charles ACTON (previously FULLERTON-SMITH, 1882-1970) whom he succeeded as head of the gentry family of that name of Acton Scott, and Joyce Stackhouse ACTON (1899-1992). scion of the PENDARVES of Pendarves and SURTEES of Dinsdale-on-Tees gentry families. He m 1966 (Ella) Lucy adopted dau of Miss I S STAVELY of Trevor House, Church Stretton, Shropshire, and had two sons.
1. Capt FRANCIS STACKHOUSE Acton (b 1967) who succeeds his father as head of the family. He m 1997 (reg Q3 Shropshire) Alison Ruth (b 1967 reg Q3 Staffs) d of Rev George Samuel BECK (b c1924 reg Q1 Yorks) of Coniston, Cumbria by his 1952 m (reg Q3 Lancs) to Marjorie (1925-76) d of Albert Edward BARLOW (1890-) by his 1921 m (reg Q3 Lancs) to Jane MOWATT, and had a son and a dau:
1.1 EDWARD GEORGE STACKHOUSE (b 1999 reg Q4 Shropshire), heir to his father
1.1 Sophie Grace ACTON (b 2002 reg Q2 Shropshire)
2. Rupert Stavely ACTON (b 1969). He m 2001 (reg Q3 Shropshire) Louise Adele (b 1972 reg Q1 London) d of _ CUMBER and _ BUSHE, and had a dau:
2.1 Florence Clementine P ACTON (b c2006 reg Q1 Shropshire)
