MACARTHUR-ONSLOW Annette
31 March 1933 to 25 April 2026
Died peacefully in her childhood home in Camden [Sydney, New South Wales] aged 93.
She became a recognised writer, illustrator and artist who was best known for
the story of Uhu - a small tawny owl - for which she was awarded the 1970
Childrens Book of the Year Award.
Annette was passionate about accurately recording local and family history, and
this became her life's work. Her decades of research have been referenced in
many non-fiction books, historical records and documents across the country.
Family and friends will remember Annette for her strength of character, her
steely determination to live life on her own terms, and her artistic
appreciation for everything it offered.
Annette is survived by her niece Rachael and nephews Kai and Kiff.
There will be a private cremation with a future memorial to be announced.
