He was s of Ronald Maitland SIMPSON 1896-1957 and Lila Maravan MUSCHAMP 1895-1950. He m 1^st 1956 Avril Carolyn HARRISON and had a son (Charles) and a dau (Anna who m a gs of 14^th Earl of LINDSAY 1901-85, and has issue). He m 2^nd 1968 Mary Faith LAUGHTON-SCOTT and had a further son ((Edward) Hugo) and dau (Kate).
