From the Telegraph of 24 Jan 2025: MCALPINE Adrian DL (Ret) died peacefully on 17th January 2025. Loving husband to the late Angela McAlpine. Proud father to Antonia, Olivia and Angus. Deeply adoring grandfather to Oscar, Louis, Florence and Sienna. Private family funeral. A service of thanksgiving will be held in the Spring.

He was s of Lt-Col Malcolm Hugh Dees MCALPINE 1917-2012 (gs of Sir Robert MCALPINE 1st Bt 1847-1934) and Sheila Margaret 1919-2006 d of Maj F Raeburn PRICE of Fordyce, N.Foreland, Kent. He m 1983 Angela Mary 1951-2022 d of George Charles HICKIE 1917-85 scion of that Irish gentry family and Elizabeth Frances 1924-2014 d of Cdr Herbert Stanley Wentworth CRIST RN, and had a son and two daus as above.
