From the Telegraph of 16 May 2025: BIRDWOOD George Fortune Brodrick died peacefully on 5th May aged 96. Beloved husband of Gaynor, father of James and John, grandfather of Philippa, Hugo, Katherine, William, Christopher, Alec and Philip, and great grandfather of Suki and Leo. A man with many interests and accomplishments, and a wide circle of friends. The Funeral will take place at 11 a.m. on 3rd June at the Church of St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne.

He was s of Hubert Brodrick BIRDWOOD MC 1896-1980 (gt gs of Gen. Christopher BIRDWOOD 1807-82 who was gf of 1^st Baron BIRDWOOD 1865-1951) and Brenda Clephane Forrester 1894-1995 d of James Brown FORTUNE c1851-1920 of Larchmoor, Stoke Poges, Bucks (yr s of George FORTUNE 1820-94 sometime head of that Scots gentry family of Bengairn and Euphemia FORRESTER-BROWN 1826-1906) by his 1892 m reg Q2 Lancs to Catherine Maud KIMBELL 1868-1937. He m 1953 (Dorothy) Gaynor Hughes d of Capt Robert George EVANS MBE KStJ of Fernyfield, Llay, N. Wales, and had two sons
