From the Telegraph of 7 June 2025: LONGSDON Colonel Robert Shaun LVO on 23rd May 2025 aged 88 years. Much loved husband of Caroline, father of James, Rupert, Charles and Laura and grandfather to twelve grandchildren. Former Colonel of the 17th/21st Lancers. A Memorial Service will be held at St Mary's Church, Fairford, Gloucestershire on 2nd September 2025 at 2.30 p.m.

He was s of Robert Cyril LONGSDON 1900-89 scion of that gentry family of Little Longstone and his 1^st w (her 1^st h) Evadne 1911-2003 (Mrs David Llewellyn Lloyd) d of Sir Archibald Dennis FLOWER 1865-1950 sometime head of that gentry family of The Hill and Florence 1877-1946 d of Sir Richard Francis KEANE 4^th Bt 1845-92 and Adelaide Sidney c1848-1907 d of John VANCE MP. He m 1968 Caroline Susan b 1946 d of Lt-Col Michael Colvin WATSON OBE MC TD 1918-2004 and Hon (Joan) Sybil BERRY 1919-88 d of 1^st & only Baron BUCKLAND 1877-1928 and Gwladys Mary SANDBOOK 1884-1971, and had three sons and a dau.

The King and Queen were represented by Major Christopher Cox (Lieutenant of The King's Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard) at the Memorial Service for Colonel Shaun Longsdon (former Lieutenant of The King's Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard) which was held at St. Mary's Church, Fairford, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.
