This responds to her inclusion in the Centenarians Part 5 list for 2026.

Further research may be needed to verify this. The below family tree entry on MyHeritage suggests that Geraldine MACARTNEY née LEACH may have been born in 1917 and died in 2005 (the second result on the list). The family tree is behind a paywall; I was unable to see the full details of her entry in it, but any members of this forum who are subscribers might be able to do so. https://www.myheritage.com/names/geraldine_leach

She may be the Geraldine LEACH b 1917 (reg Q3 Blackburn), dau of Eli LEACH of Darwen, Lancashire by his 1909 m (reg Q4 Blackburn) to May Constance S. BUTTERWORTH (b c 1886 reg Q1 Blackburn, d c 1933 reg Q1 Blackburn). She m 1945 (reg Q3 Darwen) Lieutenant-Commander John Hussey Burgh MACARTNEY 1915-2001 (2x gt gs of Sir John MACARTNEY 1st Bt (Ire 1799) 1747-1812). They had 1 daughter.

I am not a MyHeritage member, so cannot help there, but you are right that further work is needed as relying on family tree sites where users can post trees sometimes based on little evidence, which others cannot label as demonstrably untrue, is always a risk.

I had a look in Ancestry (all the above disclaimers apply!) - I found a few member trees with Geraldine LEACH m to John Hussey Burgh MACARTNEY, dying in 2005 Sydney, Australia.  No source was given in any of the trees for her death, though many of her other life events were sourced in some of them.

Unfortunately NSW probate indices only cover the period from 2013 to date.

Overall I think this is likely to be true (on the basis that the Ancestry trees I checked seem to be well sourced on the whole), but further confirmation needed.
