From the Times of 12 Aug 2023: SAPIEHA FREMANTLE Christine died peacefully on 6th August 2023, aged 89. Mother of Christopher and Paul and grandmother to Anna, Jacob and Daniel, she will be greatly missed and remembered for her creativity, determination, bravery, and her care for people and causes. The funeral will be held in Ayr and a memorial service will take place at St Mary’s, Battersea, on 2nd October at 2pm…

She was d of Prince Paul (Pawel) SAPIEHA b 1900 Poland & d 1987 Munich and Virgilia Brahe PETERSON 1904-66 of New York. She m 1963 (div 1978) Adam 1934-2009 s of Hon Christopher Evelyn FREMANTLE 1906-78 (s of 3^rd Baron COTTESLOE 1862-1956) and Anne-Marie Huth 1909-2002 d of Rt Hon Frederick Huth JACKSON 1863-1921 (gs of Sir William JACKSON 1^st Bt 1805-76) and Clara Annabel Caroline 1870-1944 d of Rt Hon Sir Mountstuart Elphinstone GRANT DUFF GCSI CIE 1829-1906 sometime head of that Scots gentry family of Eden (4xgt gs of Alexander DUFF d 1696 who was gf of 1^st Earl of FIFE 1697-1763 (2xgt gf of 1^st Duke of FIFE 1849-1912, son-in-law of King EDWARD VII)) and Anna Julia WEBSTER 1838-1915, and had two sons as above.

Christine  Fremantle was also 2nd cousin to Mathilde d'Udekem d'Arcoz, queen of Belgium. Mountstuart GrantDuff was also chief of Clan Duff, something he took pains to avoid being called such. Anne Fremantle was a journalist, and writer, as well as a Tv personality in the USA

I have the article. It does not say anything about her ancestry, just her interests and her sons. She was one of my cousins. Am going to her memorial next week. One of her father's first cousins was Prince Radziwill, husband of Caroline Lee Bouvier. Knew him quite well.
